PARLOR POETRY

Bradbury picked " Dover Beach" to read to the women in the parlor because it talked about how alone the women really are. How they really dont have anyone and how that they arent loved by another person.
Alone, I sat
Alone, I cry
Alone, I sleep
Alone, I walk

Alone, I eat

Alone, I sing
Alone, I write
Alone, I love

Alone, I die

Alone, I dream
Alone, I fight
Alone, alone, alone.....

Won't someone pick me up?

I'm tired of being Alone...

I AM HERE

This semester has gone by so fast... it's making my head spin. I feel pretty behind on my homework.. im trying really hard to get good grades, and to get my work done. I feel like im doing really well on all of our test and interacting in class, but i keep forgetting my homework.. it always slips my mind and i really need to get into a habit of checking the blog EVERY DAY. My SMART goal is slowly getting there.. i know i need to do my homework.. i mean how hard is it to sit down at the computer..

ESSAY POSTGAME ANALYSIS

I felt pretty confident when i walked into the class room on taking the test, i read the book last year and then was able to refresh my memory by reading it again, i really enjoyed this book so a lot of the things i read last year really stuck with me. i thought that the test was going to be one of those " what did..." kind of questions. i should have know Dr. Preston would make it more difficult than that... when it was said that we were writing an essay, i freaked! Im horrible at writing essays.. after i started writing i was actually pretty confident.. until i got everything out. and it wasnt long AT ALL. so i kinda just explained the story a little bit more.. while doing so more things came to me to write about. i tried very hard on my essay, so im hoping for at least a B. Like i said, im not the best when it comes to writing essays..

MY F451

No one thinks for themselves. No one loves, or has feelings for others. Fireman start fires instead of putting them out, books are illegal to read and you will be arrested or burned if you are caught with them. Women dont want children, everyone hates kids and the only reason they have them is to keep the population up. in F451 Montag is just a normal fireman starting fires, and busting people who own books. Until one day he met a girl, named Clarisse. She made him think. She started his whole rebellion. Montag started taking books home to read for himself, secretly of course. Montag wanted to learn more about books, and more about the past with them, and he wanted to understand them better. He remembered a man he met a long time ago at a park, Faber, he remembered he was jumpy and had a book. Montag and Faber reconnected and Faber helped him understand books more. Until one day Montags boss, Beaty, Found out about him Ihiding books. Beaty understood where he was coming from having books, because every fireman did the same thing at least once in his career. Montag didnt stop. The Mechanical hound was always suspicious about Montag, it was like he could smell the books on him. Montag was always nervous that the mechanical hound was going to catch him, and kill him. Montag had a breakdown while his wifes ,Mildred, friends were over. Montag started yelling at them, reading poetry at them, one women was so touched and horrified of the poem that she burst into tears and ran out of the parlor. This set off everything. Montag went back to work only to get a call to burn a house. it was his home. His wife called it in when she found all of his books. Montag burned his own home. Along with his boss Beaty who found out he was talking to Faber with an ear piece. Montag ran off and went to find Faber. He met Faber at his house and took clothes and alcohol. When Montag left he was able to throw off the mechanical hound and made it to the abandoned railroad tracks, where a bunch of professors lived homeless. Montag learned from them that he doesnt need to keep books with him, that he can read them once, and he can memorize it. Granger was one of the old professors. He saw in the fire a phoenix, which is like a symbol for rebirth. Its a sign that the books will have another chance to be reborn. That in the future they will come back. The city was bombed because it was during a war, everyone montag ever knew was dead.

SPRING POST 1: MUSIC AS LITERATURE

I consider music to be literature, because it has a lot to do with the way we write every day and the way poetry is written. Poetry is a big part of literature and music is the same thing, but with sound.
we define literature as part of our language. Its something we read everyday. its something that defines a particular subject, and with music it also talks about one main subject.
There isn't really a difference between a novel, a poem, a rap, a song, an opera, and a symphony. The only difference is the sound. If you cut out the sound and read it on a sheet of paper, you wouldnt be able to tell the difference between them. Except symphony, i dont think those have words?
